- Completing studies at Heidelberg University (Institute of Translation and Interpretation) with the academic title of "Diplom-Übersetzerin für Russisch und Englisch" (holder of a Master's Degree in Translation for Russian and English) with law as an ancillary subject
- Training to become an interpreter whilst working for the German Foreign Office in Bonn
- State-certified examination to work as interpreter of Russian
- Additional qualification to teach German as a Foreign Language (TGFL)
- Additional qualification to work as a certified intercultural trainer (Xpert CCS®)
CAREER PATH
- Since 2012, working as a certified intercultural trainer

- Since 1990, working as a free-lance translator (Diplom-Übersetzerin) and sworn interpreter specialising in the field of law, business, politics, culture, journalism, film & TV (above all for ARTE TV, a broadcaster of cultural programmes)
- 1989 - 1990, head of the language department and print media specialist at the German Consulate-General in Leningrad (today's St. Petersburg)
- 1989 - 1990, carrying out editing work for AURORA, a Leningrad-based art publisher
- 1987 - 1989, working in the language department of the German Embassy in Moscow
- 1983 - 1987, giving Russian and English language classes
